A committee of probation officers is responsible for the development of the center. By assessing prior records, the committee has found that there are currently 572 people who are currently on probation for a family violence offense who meet the parameters established for the program (i.e., have been convicted two or more times for domestic violence in the past three years). The committee expects that they will be able to provide services to 100 of the 572 offenders during the first year of operation. The committee expects the program to reduce the number of arrests for domestic vi​‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍​olence for those who participate in the treatment as well as reduce the number of calls for service to the addresses of the participants for disturbances and other incidents that may be related to domestic violence (e.g., noise complaints, harassment complaints, and disorderly conduct complaints).
