Locate one peer-reviewed journal article from the NCU library that reports the findings of a psychological study that examine behavior that is relevant to the saying or proverb. Consider whether or not the research results support the accuracy of the proverb. Remember, proverbs and folk wisdom are meant to illustrate truths. The question that you need to answer is whether or not these proverbs are in fact true or supported by the research? Critically evaluate the evidence within the research study to reach some sort of conclusion.

When arriving at a conclusion, you will either write a paper or schedule a phone/Skype call with your professor and discuss how a specific culture or belief system within which an individual is raised might lead an individual to be more or less likely to make a specific type of error in thinking, such as ‘boys will be boys’ or ‘spare the rod and spoil the child.’ Provide some form of scholarly research to support your rationale.

Finally, conclude with a brief assessment regarding the implications that might exist for individuals who rely on these types of sayings or folk wisdom to guide their thoughts and actions.
